TTC #1 with PCOS! AHH!! Help?
So, we have been trying for over a year now. I am on metformin, but I haven’t taken it everyday like I should….I started taking it again for the past week and have been very consistant with it, and plan to keep it that way! My doctor prescribed me Clomid, but I decided to wait on that until I lose some more weight. I am trying to aim for 25 pounds by the end of August…I am 175 now and 5’3, so I hope that it helps make a difference. Anyway, does anyonehave any helpful tips or success stories that you would like to share..or just general words of wisdom.
By the way..I haven’t had a period in like 2 months, and I don’t know when I will have another one. I have been super nauseated lately especially when I smell food, headaches every night, and back aches..and light cramping. I am thinking that it’s probably just the Metformin….Anyway, what do you think?
Im in the same boat as you, also been trying for almost a year no succes. I went for months without a period then last year may i bled for 5 months. went urgently to the gynae the monday and the friday i had ovarian drilling done, d &c the works. they cleaned me out and got rid of any polyps i had etc. This helped me to have a perfect 28 day cycle. 7 months later im still perfect 28 day, on metformin and have also decided to take this drug more often as i use to take one a day or skip a day etc. But this metformin does cause side effects of cramping, headaches and backache. I have been suffering alot with the backaches.
Try to stay on the metformin and give the clomid a try – im going to the gynae for my check up next month and i know he is going to give me clomid. I am also overweight but i noticed that metformin has helped me to loose a little.
all the best to you and let me know what happens with the clomid
